Drs. Ron Waksman and Renato Lopes discuss the results of a study presented as a late-breaking trial at the European Society of Cardiology 2020 virtual congress. This study examined whether medical therapy or more or an invasive strategy was better for patients with intermediate heart failure (ejection fraction of 35% to 45%) and stable ischemic heart disease. When compared with patients with ischemia but without heart failure, stable ischemic patients with heart failure saw a benefit from invasive intervention.
